The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has invited online applications for the recruitment of Security Assistant/Executive through the IB Examination 2025. A total of 4987 vacancies have been announced, offering a valuable opportunity for 10th pass candidates to join the Intelligence Bureau. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has released a recruitment notification for a total of 4987 Security Assistant/Executive positions. The entire selection process is being managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Eligible candidates who meet the required criteria can submit their applications online through the official portals — www.mha.gov.in or www.ncs.gov.in. This recruitment offers a promising government job opportunity, especially for candidates who have passed the 10th standard and are seeking a secure career path.
Security Assistant/Executive
General Central Service, Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
Level-3 (₹21,700 – ₹69,100) in the Pay Matrix along with applicable Central Government allowances.
Field experience in intelligence work will be considered an added advantage.
Note: Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions and submit proper documents while applying. For complete details, refer to the official notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The post of Security Assistant/Executive is not identified as suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Such candidates are advised not to apply.
The total number of vacancies announced is provisional and may be revised by the authority based on requirements.
All eligibility criteria, including age, qualification, and category status, will be determined as of the last application date, i.e., 17th August 2025. The candidate must have passed the required qualification by this date.
Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) will be as per Government rules. If suitable ESM candidates are not available, those positions may be filled by non-ESM candidates of the same category.
ESM candidates already employed in a Group ‘C’ post in the Central Government after availing ESM reservation are not eligible for fee concessions or reservation benefits again. However, age relaxation can still be availed.
Serving defence personnel must submit a certificate as per Appendix-4 if due for discharge. All ESM candidates must also submit an undertaking as per Appendix-5 when asked.
The final merit list will be prepared based on combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-III examinations. A waiting list will also be maintained for future recruitment needs.
The Intelligence Bureau reserves the right to make corrections or updates to the recruitment process as per Government of India instructions, if necessary.
Candidates must have knowledge of at least one local language/dialect relevant to the SIB (Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau) they are applying for. They should be able to read, write, and speak that language/dialect.
This post carries an All India Transfer liability. Only candidates willing to work anywhere in India should apply.
Note: Ex-servicemen will be considered in their respective category (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS).
